Guiding Souls: The Pastoral Care of Bishop James Bukomeko of Mityana Diocese
Rt. Rev. Dr. James Bukomeko, who was born on 1st November 1968 in Luweero District, he become the fifth Bishop of Mityana diocese after his consecration on the 2nd of Feburary 2020. Dr. Bukomeko was educated at Hertfordshire University UK (PhD), Uganda Management Insititute (UMI), Uganda Christian University (MDiv), Nkumba University (B.Ed) and Uganda Martyrs’ Seminary Namugongo (UMS) was ordained in 1996. He has served at various parishes and communities in the church of Uganda. these include St. Stephen’s Kireka, St. John’s Entebbe, St. Apollo Kivebulaya Namasuba, Kansanga, St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe, St. Apollo Kivebulaya Maganjo, and St. Stephen’s Nansana.
Other communities of service include TASO, Express F.C, Rotary Club e.t.c
As the Bishop of Mityana, Bishop James Bukomeko plays a central role in overseeing the spiritual and administrative affairs of the diocese. His dedication to the Christian faith and his pastoral care skills have made him a beloved figure among the clergy and congregations he serves.
Throughout his career, Bishop Bukomeko’s leadership qualities and spiritual guidance have been evident, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the Anglican Church in the region.
